Subject: Josh Here Ls1 Rx7 :) SOLD THE RX7 Wed Nov 21, 2007 8:17 pm
THIS WAS MY CAR LOL IT IS NOW SOLD. ON ITS WAY TO CALI AS WE SPEAK.
Hey My name is Josh. You have all probably heard tons of different stuff about my car, lol I have heard its : wrecked , slow, fast, ugly , bad ass all that and more. Well let me clarify the car is respectably quick and light that is for sure. Is it beatable yes , is it nice to think it cant be yes but who wouldnt think that of thier own car. I do have alot to do to it I mean come on drop and ls1 in an rx7 and go not hardly. The car with the mods has reached its limit on drivetrain such as clutch , rear end , axles and bushings. The car will be recieving these items slowly and will be more racable after the big stuff is done. I have a few rearend options but these are known for breaking at this whp level in these swaps so I have to upgrade before I shatter it and ruin the whole rearend. The axles will probably hold but I do want to go ahead and upgrade to the 300mm incase I ever run high nines ( not likely) Also the car has wheel hop really bad which most guys know can cause drivetrain strain and failure so to reduce this I am going to upgrade all bushings in car (proven to reduce wheel hop) my car had 90k on the shell so they are probably tired. Next obviously I am not running stock ls1 power levels so my clutch has been on for 2k since swap and its about gone. Going to have to get a Spec 3+ and lighter flywheel. After these upgrades have been made the car will be alot stronger with of course and added set of DR's out back to catch the payment. My wife and I just graduated from Physical Therapy school so once we work a few more months I hope to get this done with one shop visit. I also know that the ls1 loves juice so that will most likely be set up after drivetrain upgrades along with heads. Then I am sure I will have issues with the t56 by then lol. Anyways the car currently has no audio and I cannot Big Pussy like that so that is my next thing after that its all for the performance of car. The car is currently getting ac and ps put on along with a new alarm. The seven will also have to have the 918 Comp cam springs replaced since they recalled them. I am not looking for everyone to drool over my car as I want it to be individual to me as I make it my own. I enjoy cars and the whole seen no matter the car. My wife tiffany drives a 04 G35 Coupe that we traded her 350z in for which we traded the pink tiburon in for. I used to own the 96 Gsr turbo Orange integra which I sold to Brandon wheeler. Some would call it ricer but I liked the car. Here are some pics of my car with exterior , interior and engine shots. Hope to join this forum and learn some more about the ls1 and v8s. I am not afraid to race like some of you may have heard but yes I am afraid of breaking my shit when I know it needs upgrading. My car is $$$ as most are so it will take me a little while to get it where I want it and the bragging rights it will one day deserve. Hope you enjoy. Look foward to getting to know some of you guys!

lol thanks. That is a nice ride what did he end up running 1/4 I assume. Lol that would be awesome to run him and see what the rotary would do with the ls1. Tell him just to get his p &q's together if he wants to do it. I have spend 22k so far just for car, engine and trans installation stuff and labor lol. It adds up quick but well worth it. He will enjoy the reliability of the LS1.

It'll run in the 12.70ish range now. But he doesn't launch it very hard. He auto-crosses more than drag race though. He's gota a FORTUNE in his car. He he decides to swap I may put him in touch with you if that's cool.

Sure I would be glad to give some advice and help him source parts. That is probably what mine runs without being able to launch and get traction lol. How long has he had his 7?

I think he's had it awhile. But I've only known him for a couple years. And I'll let him know about your help.

Took me awhile to read this thread. Didn't know what it was about, so I just skipped it. Awesome car though. It looks good. Can't wait for you to get it lined out. I'll run you. I'm used to getting beat by LS cars. lol
